How will cloud disrupt solution providers?
Cloud has been and will continue to be on the rise in 2016. Love it or hate it, with cloud seemingly here to stay, solution providers can expect disruption to continue fall from the cloud next year, so for the final part of our three-part series, vendors share predictions on how cloud will remain a game changer and force partners to reconsider various aspects of their business.
"The storage of data online in the cloud, where a company's data is stored and accessible from multiple distributed and connected resources will become huge in 2016," he says. "Enterprises and midmarket firms will be looking for more solutions like IBM SoftLayer to manage all of their storage needs."
Cloud will also change IT market products, Rob Rae, VP of business development at Datto, points out. He says it's imperative solution providers understand the evolution to traditional product sets like antivirus and backup and be able to position them to end users.
Plus, cloud will have vendors switching things up in 2016 as well. Laz Vekiarides, CTO and co-founder of ClearSky Data, says channel partners will see vendors bundle up some of their current cloud-based and service-oriented offerings and deliver it as a service rather than as all-in-one bundled products.
