The Boston-based company emerged out of operating in stealth mode with its global storage offering
A new company has emerged to enter the global cloud storage market, with a product offering that combines on premise storage with the flexibility and scalability of the cloud.
Boston-based ClearSky Data is offering a fully managed service that used algorithms to decide where the best place is to store a user’s data, which includes managing several layers of storage, from traditional on-premise systems, to a private cloud in a local data centre and the scope to push data into public clouds.
The goal of ClearSky Data is to deliver storage on demand and low-latency services to enterprises with varied data storage requirements.
It aims to achieve this goal with its three tiers of storage. For data that requires rapid and regular access, ClearSky Data will provide its customers with on-premise storage for data to cut some of the latency experienced when using cloud storage.
