It’s always hard to make accurate predictions before a major event. Consider this summer’s games in Rio. The months leading up to the event were filled with speculations about how athletes at the top of their games would perform, but when the competition began, anything from a false start to an athlete’s head cold can upset the experts’ predicted results.
Every year, VMWorld brings the tech industry its share of fulfilled projections and unpredictable turns. Last year, we saw the discussion growing for the demand of service-based offerings across the enterprise. As Laz shared at the time, we were also overcome by the crowd’s interest in ClearSky’s joint session with VMware and our partner Xtium, which highlighted ways for leveraging Virtual Volumes (VVols) and VMware integration features within the managed services frame of a global storage network. Due to the growing momentum behind the market’s interest in the topic, the session was given again the next day.
As we head to Las Vegas for VMWorld 2016, we’re looking forward to continued discussions about VVols, managed services, new use cases for hybrid cloud and more. Below are a few places you’ll be able to find the ClearSky team at the show:
- On Wednesday, August 31 at 4 p.m. PT, Laz will once again take the stage with VMware to discuss VVols. This year, the panel, titled “Transitioning to VVols: Partner Panel (#STO8619),” will look back on VVols’ market traction during the past year, and share the results, tips and tricks – both predictable and unexpected – that customers have found while using the solution.
- ClearSky will join the Tech Field Day team on Tuesday, August 30 at 2:30 p.m. PT to share updates, use cases and some forward-looking trends related to our global storage network. The session will be streamed live on YouTube, and you can follow the @TechFieldDay Twitter handle for live updates as well.
- You can also catch up with the ClearSky team by attending the breakout session titled “Virtual Volumes Technical Deep Dive (#STO7645)” on Monday, August 29 at 11 a.m. PT. During the session, VMware leaders will share an overview of VVols technology and how the solution delivers an efficient, intelligent way to store data. Attendees will also learn about how VVols supports and optimizes a solution like a global storage network.
ClearSky’s global storage network combines the performance and availability of on-premises storage with the scalability and economics of the cloud, making it a perfect fit to support fast-growing data, solutions such as VVols and a wide range of enterprise applications, including machine data analytics. Meanwhile, VVols gives a virtualized storage infrastructure the chance to shine and helps organizations rethink storage for today’s hybrid cloud environments. At VMWorld 2016, we’re looking forward to sharing – and learning – innovative new ways enterprises are using these technologies and more.
